Some people believe the Knicks are a lock to make the playoffs if their key core stays healthy, but how are they ranked in relation to the rest of the Eastern Conference according to our objective system?
This edition is busting at the seams with Hall of Famers, future Hall of Famers, former MVP's, title winners and members of the NBA's 50 Greatest Team.
With a fair amount of the season already completed, it is an opportune time to examine which players have significantly improved or have declined. The players on the list may surprise you.
Monta Ellis is still at least a full month away from his return to the court for the Warriors, but he recently called RealGM with the full story behind his ankle injury.
Born within six months of each other in opposite corners of the world, two seven footers who are finalists for the Basketball Hall of Fame this fall are two of the best ever to play the center position.

I watched ‘The Love Guru’ last night. It wasn’t nearly as bad as many told me, but it certainly isn’t a blockbuster. I love Mike Myers, but how many times is he going to use the same voices and mannerisms?
Tracy McGradywill rest for three weeks in hopes that the soreness in his ailing left knee will subside sooner rather than later. A injury to T-Mac is almost as sure as death and taxes, but the Rockets always seem to weather the storm. This is exactly why Ron Artest is in town.
Magic coach Stan Van Gundy believes that the dunk contest is foolish and really doesn’t care whether or not Dwight Howard takes part in the annual exhibition in February. He might be too big for the contest, but I think All-Star Weekend needs his type of superstar.
Nobody is really talking about how much injuries the Jazz have endured this season, who are still floating well-over. 500 through the first quarter of the campaign. Andrei Kirilenko and Carlos Boozer sat out Tuesday night’s game, and an end doesn’t appear near.
Samuel Dalembertdoesn’t believe that his team has the same fire that they did at the end of last season when they charged into the playoffs and gave the Pistons a run for their money. They have been rather unimpressive thus far, but there is still time (some) to turn things around as they continue to add Elton Brand into the mix.
Michael Curryhas explained why his starters, and mainly Allen Iverson, have been playing fewer minutes this season. He’s simply trying to preserve his stars, which often burnt out under Flip Saunders. I think it’s a great idea, so long as A.I. doesn’t get too hot over the reduced time.
The Braves are on the verge of landing Javier Vazquez in a trade with the White Sox. A number of younger players are expected to be sent to Chicago for the pitcher, who will help bolster Atlanta’s rotation. They are also reportedly interested in Rafael Furcal, in an offseason that could return them to the playoffs.
Speaking of Furcal, four teams are reportedly interested in the shortstop, including the A’s, Giants, and Braves. I’d imagine that the Mets might be the fourth team, as they look to improve their infield by maybe moving Furcal to second base.
C.C. Sabathia was spotted at a Warriors’ game on Monday night but refused to comment on his free agent status. He’s from California, so I wouldn’t think too deeply into it.
The Phillies will share $18.4 million for their World Series victory, which means that each player will take home an additional $351k for winning the whole darn thing. Some believe that the players are only it in for the money, but I’m pretty sure they’d be just as happy to win a ring and enter into immortality.
The NFL has suspended six players for violating the league’s anti-doping policy. The Saints and Vikings were hit the hardest, with their playoff hopes now harmed by the penalties. Deuce McAllister is done for the regular season, which places more pressure on Reggie Bush to reach 100%.
The Giants have suspended Plaxico Burress for four games in the wake of his accidental shooting. That means he is done for the regular season, but I think it’s doubtful that he’ll return to the gridiron for New York in the playoffs. Sadly for the rest of the NFC East, they don’t need him.
Giants' receiver Steve Smith was robbed at gunpoint last week when a men put a gun to his head and took his wallet and jewelry. Thankfully, Smith emerged from the incident without harm, but damage was undoubtedly done. I just hope this doesn’t lead more players to carry weapons.
Chargers' general manager A.J. Smith is embarrassed by the team’s results through the NFL’s first thirteen weeks. They need a tremendous amount of luck to sneak into the playoffs … and that’s not going to happen.
